Win a Geforce 6800 Contest
friday, april 30, 2004
BFG will give away one BFG GeForce 6800 to one person who creatively
gets the BFG Technologies brand in front of as many people as possible
without breaking any laws (and prove it with videotape or some other
kind of un-doctored method — NO PHOTOSHOP FAKES!). Some examples:
Create a big banner with the BFG logo and name and get it shown on TV
during a sporting event. Get permission to hang a banner over an overpass
and estimate how many cars saw it and for how long. Call into a radio
or TV show and mention "BFG Technologies makes the best PC graphics cards." These
are only a few ideas and you can use these, but keep in mind that other
people will too and while effective, these entries may not be considered
the most creative. Check out the website for full
details. Click here.

Mischief's Corner
thursday,
april 22, 2004
Normally, you would get a bunch of HYPERBOLE from me saying how good Mischief's
Corner is, but this week there was nothing but incorrect data. This really
can't be fully blamed on Mischief as Keith left us out to dry this week.
I'm going to tell you what actually happened and you can come back here
to read the truth after you read this week's MC. First, It was Spermboy
and Steve(Goalie) who tried to push Mischief to offense. I had nothing
to do with that, since I openly admit that I suck at Defense. Also, everyone
knows that Mischief is a better linesman for spermboy over Bunny's Fan.
Bunny's Fan and Spermboy haven't even scored a goal in tough games this
year. I'll let the other mistakes rest so you can enjoy.. Click

Final Philharmonic Fantasy
monday,
april 5, 2004
It took less than three days for the show to sell out 2,265 seats at Los
Angeles' new Walt Disney Concert Hall, and these tickets went for over
$500 a pair on ebay for the Final Fantasy philharmonic concert. The video
games, from publisher Square Enix USA, have sold 48 million copies worldwide
and spawned several successful sound tracks of original music. The two-hour
concert in L.A., with a full orchestra and a 32-person choir, will coincide
with the E3 video-gaming convention in May. There's talk of releasing
a CD from the live show and possibly touring other cities.
Mischief's Corner

april 1, 2004
The debut of the most talked about corner to hit the internet. Mischief's
Corner chronicles the weekly Lan Parties, Movies, Hockey games, video
games, and other weekly gatherings that have taken the gamer community
by storm. His zany cast of characters will amaze you with their almost
unbelieveable lack of common sense and guile. The only thing he left out
was the late night booty call at 1am, but details or comedy will probably
ensue in next week's Mischief Corner. Click

Bryo is shopping for PC titles
friday, march 19, 2004
Italian based Bryo (www.bryo.it), after the successful launch of Northland
last week, is actively looking for unsigned PC titles to publish in Italy.
"Our strategy to use newsstands, in conjunction with retails and
chains, as distribution network, worked very well and we, and our developers,
are happy of the results" commented Pietro Montelatici, MD of Bryo.
Bryo reaches more than 20.000 point of sale in Italy, literally covering
all territory. Such a wide distribution require good mass market titles
and a strong marketing campaign: "Just as an example, the marketing
for Northland covered all the major magazines, Internet sites and radio.
We also set up a dedicated community site and our external PR agency pushed
the title into non-specialist press. For the official game of the Big
Brother we also reached national TV. All this generates good returns for
everyone." added Montelatici. Bryo is now looking for finished PC
full price games to insert in its line-up.
Interested developers with unsigned PC titles can write to: devs@bryo.it
Jason Rubin Denied
from gamedaily.com
wednesday, march 10, 2004
The San Jose Mercury News website has an interesting tidbit relating how
Tara Reid’s entrance to a Sony party, while he was denied entrance,
helped to fuel a speech by Naughty Dog’s Jason Rubin at last week’s
D.I.C.E. Summit. Rubin apparently called on game developers to band together
in a way similar to what Hollywood actors did earlier this century by
forming United Artists. According to the story, he feels “that video
game developers are the underappreciated talent of the industry and that
publishers hold too much of the power and profits.”

David Gray's Birthday
saturday, march 6, 2004
Today is David Gray's Birthday. Well known for his years at Sega and EA
and his famous website featured in Yahoo's best and Evening Magazine where
he tried to Outdo Malou, he is nearly always found to be in the top 10
rankings of all Airhockey players and his website is Airhockeynews.com.
David Gray promises to be at the GDC this year but because of his incredibly
busy schedule at Pacific Power and Lighting, it is unknown if he will
meet this commitment. Gamelord.org was fortunated to catch David Gray
on his cell phone yesterday as he left for lunch at 5:30pm. David was
recorded saying, "Yeah, who's this? Gamelord.org? Yeah, Fuck off
and die. Sure, I'm going to be at GDC and you can kiss my ass!"
