On Monday night, 10/25/99, the Twisted Metal 4 team sat down to their normal team dinner. Out of nowhere comes the cries of "I can beat you with Calypso!" Julius calls out Barry Pringle to a game. His arrogance getting the best of him. The crowd is complete shock and Barry confidently accepts the challenge. The match is to take place after the team dinner of the next night.
As you walk around the office on Tuesday, you can feel the tension leading up to the big match. Barry is furiously practicing in hopes of avoiding embarrassment. Julius camps out in Jay's office as he gets executive assistance in his training for the big match. Julius has gone too far.

Julius "Foolius" Willis and Baz "Fever for the flavor of a" Pringle get ready to rumble.

Julius is getting ready to draw in this showdown of showdowns.

Julius' first ploy is to stick his head in front of Barry's as they jockey for controllers.

Julius reeks of confidence as he taunts Barry before the match. The audience is listening and waiting for the match to begin. Julius shows no signs of fear.


"...If you get lost please do not panic, get to the top and call a mechanic!"

Jay sneaks up behind Julius during his strut and scares Julius by turning on the TV.

Round 1 has begun. The match is a best of 3 games. Julius is playing as Calypso and Baz is to play as Orbital. The tension in the room could be cut with a knife. Baz who made the level and placed power-ups moves around Minion's Maze while Julies does the same.

Julius has chosen the first level which was Minion's Maze and Baz will get to choose the next level they play on which will be "Nowhere to Hide".

In the first round, Julius goes straight to the World Weapon and everything is still close. Baz does a duck and cover but they're still a few run ins. There is no decisive leader and Julius still believes he can be the man.

Baz Pringle is still a little worried at this point. He is under a lot of pressure as he knows that if he can't beat Julius after everyone claimed he would, he will take non-stop trash talk from his fellow teammates. Unlike Julius who really has nothing to lose, since everyone knows he will.

Baz shows no emotion and Thai Tran watches the event from behind Baz. Thai is actually more nervous than both of the contestants put together.

Both contestants seem relaxed as round 1 is still close. No one knows who's going to win this round as of yet. However, both have reached their final quarter of life.

The whole crowd is on the edge of their seats. It could go either way. Baz pulls a great move as he waits behind a wall for Julius to appear. Julius does a great job of nuking himself and using the remote on himself.

Who else? Julius puts his head down in shame as his world becomes blurry with the loss to Baz. Julius can't focus and his lifelong work is for nothing. He can't face the world after such a beating.

Tumbling, Tumbling, Falling. He can only keep going down into his pit of dispair.

This downward spiral can only lead further down the downward spiral.

Can he pull himself up from this twisted state?

Julius pulls himself up but the world is still blurry. He decides to fool the crowd into believing that he will be getting "serious". With Nowhere to hide coming next, Julius knows, "You can run, you can fight, or you can be destroyed."

Round 2 begins in the level called "Nowhere to hide". Thai knows the momentum is clearly on Baz's side. He knows that Julius has to Wake Up and Smell the Plasma!

When Julius loses it looks as if he's constipated. That should be enough to tell you who won. Baz clearly won round 2 with ease as Julius had nearly fallen off the edge and was seen teetering most of the game. Baz's strategy was to make Julius use the Nuke on himself and it paid off.

I'm just a poor Philipino boy. Your world... it frightens me. This technology... it scares me. I can't be blamed for losing. I can only be blamed for speaking into the "mike".

"Don't get me angry. You wouldn't like to see me when I get angry."

This is a picture of a man who's been broken. You don't want to look like this man. You don't want to feel like this man. You don't want to eat like this man. You don't even want to to talk to him. Whatever you do, don't be like Julius Willis.

Barry "Baz" Pringle can now go on to the Twisted Metal 4 history books as the man who brought down Willis. Barry comments, "It was nothing. I would have had a better challenge from the AI"
