As we start our search for the next person to take over the summaries of each week's festivus, we will have guest writers come in ever week. Hopefully, KrazyKarl, Bunny, BadKitty, or even Sean will describe each week's events.
This week Weas is our guest writer. He's taking a different approach to this week's recap. Try to follow along as CINPAC asks "WHAT THE FUCK IS HE TALKING ABOUT?"
GLwire - Center Base, Persian Gulf
US Marines in the Persian Gulf claim victory over MEC forces yesterday when two companies of the MEC 33rd mechanized division attempted to wipe out a squad of marines of Delta Squad, Able Company, 2nd Battalion of the 1st Marines Amphibious Unit (MAU) based on what the squad affectionately calls Center Base. At one point the squad of US Marines was outnumbered 10 - 1, and not only defended their own base, but attacked and destroyed the 33rd MEC's headquarters unit and main supply depot, thus stopping the MEC attack dead in its tracks.
Delta Squad, a training unit based out of Newark California, had just arrived in the area and had not even set up their advanced base: a small island in the Persian Gulf, when MEC forces began a counter attack that threw the marines off of the island. Battling balky equipment and lack of training, the marines still managed to reland on the island and take control after several hours of serious fighting. Tom "the Target"
MacThorn relates, "I had no idea where I was or where I was going. But wherever I went: when I saw a bad guy, I shot at him."
Jen "Bad Kitty" Ikeda, one of the few woman warriors of Delta Squad, also tells of her harrowing experience: "I didnt think we were going to make it", but actually cheered when they did. Ikeda received a battlefield promotion and commanded the mop up operations that ended the battle. Delta's current squad leader Paintime, who was away on leave for a scheduled "virus" check, thinks that everyone in the unit deserves a medal for what they've accomplished. "What Delta Squad did was just amazing".
