This Game Night included one of the biggest surprises of the year - HeadShot purchased a brand new computer. Well, actually BunnysFan and I helped him buy the most bang for his budget and put it together for him. We bought everything that afternoon and we had the computer up and running in time for Game Night. He was tired of using the slowest house computer, tired of always being shot in the head, and tired of his ancient Mac. Now, armed with the fastest computer at Game Night (complete with a spiffy handle and car-like front), HeadShot set out to prove his skill.
What was his plan? He decided to keep buying the Scout to see if his new speed would make a difference - it didn't. He also decided to buy the pistols that no one buys to see, well, I'm not sure what he was doing that for. There is a reason people don't purchase the ES Five Seven and the Compact 228, it is because they are no good. All in all, he ranked where he usually does - somewhere in the middle, and, he was still consistently being shot in the head.
Of course now, Pisser wants to play Battlefield, and Pisser wants to play racing games, but all HeadShot wants to do is to continue playing CounterStrike. We spent the first half of the night playing Unreal Tournament 2004 because SuperNovice brought it. Capture the Flag worked out pretty well - I like games with a purpose. The DeathMatch option with the 30 kill victory condition and unlimited respawns just felt like it went on and on and on. And for some reason no one liked the pac man mod which was the only one I was good at. It was run, run, run with SuperNovice saying "Get Mischief. He's in the lead."
For a change of pace, on Sunday BunnysFan invited the locals over for lunch, to watch the movie Saw, and we were supposed to have the first meeting for Karaoke Night. Unfortunately Mrs. BunnysFan put a damper on any future Karaoke Night as she declared, "There will be no karaoke sung in this house. Ever!" Still lunch from Los Gallos was good. Saw was interesting and not as disturbing as I thought it was going to be. And the afternoon turned into a double feature as BunnysFan tricked us into watching Thunderbirds - the movie with Bill Paxton that came out last year.
So yes, the page does work in Mozilla, however, my stylesheets don't work in mozilla. Although the differences are miniscule, I can't promise that it will work on another day.
Lemme see, we had 6 players, I was ranked 4th and Mischief was 3rd. Hardly the bottom or the top for either of us. I, however, "was" using autoselect team....
SuperNovice - Good. HeadShot - Bad by Mischief 3.8.05
SuperNovice is part of the outer circle of the core group. To get to the inner circle, he has to continually show up for at least a year.
Poor HeadShot, still trying to peddle mis-information. I was number three overall in the stats. Perfectly respectable. I have to try and not be on your team so much, because that's how SadKitty gets all her kills - she kills you. As for your meat shield excuse, what kind of a meat shield uses a Scout?
Satisfy your inner WRX driver by The Super Novice 3.8.05
I've just been informed that Windoze got Colin McRae '04 released for it - since it seemed like Pisser and others wanted to try out a racing game and this one seems like it has modest system requirements, anyone up for this next time around?
I'll try to track down a copy sometime this week...
No Karaoke Explained by KrazyKarl 3.8.05
Mrs BunnyFan did explain why no Karaoke. Her exact words;
"Basically I don't want you two (Mischief and Headshot) in the house".
Looks like its gonna be backyard karaoke in the hot tub...
BunnysFan back on top by SadKitty 3.8.05
this week's lord of the stats: Mr. Brightside (aka BunnysFan).
BadKitty took a big fall. sad kitty.
and i disagree, i think HeadShot is making a comeback. as soon as he gets used to that computer, it's gonna be HeadShot atop the ranking. look out.
Mozilla works on this page.... by The Super Novice 3.8.05
FWIW, I'm viewing this with Moz 1.7.3 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040910), renders just fine for me...
HAHAHAHAH! ~snort~ by The Super Novice 3.8.05
Actually, it was plain ol' UT (classic, not any of the silly new resource-hog ones with years as part of the name), and yeah, I liked the UT Pac mutator, even though I couldn't win a round - it was especially funny to watch Mischief run past, then watch four other people run after him, jumping like crazy, impact hammers at the ready. I guess that style of play is an acquired taste, though, heh.
I'm surprised you never made mention of Arctic Fighter Jets (especially the notable absence of any real dogfights and the notable amount of kamikaze-ing (I know it's not a verb, sorry) that was going on) or the `every time someone gets 5 meters with the flag, they get sniped' Facing Worlds, (darn you, Karl!)...
I think I have a pretty strong case for full-timer status now, having brought my machine the last five times, having attended dinner at least three times, and having brought a game that wrested everyone's attention away from CS for more than 10 minutes...surely this is enough to qualify, even if not strictly in line with the criteria? :^)
New Computer? by Headshot 3.8.05
I see Mischief forgot to mention his own new computer, and lack of stat advancement....
And (once again!) I can only go so high in the stats, because I am too efficient a meat shield!
At what point do we consider Clinton part of the core group? Does he pass for it now or will he have to come a couple more straight weeks? And if he passes for one of the Weas' Wannabes, like ourselves, will he need to come to dinner, or will he be absolved of our two-table eating rituals as he obviously tries to "miss" the dinner time affair.
