Life
Is Hockey And Then You Die
Another win for the record books last Tuesday night. With 4 wins
in 8 games, Slow Motion looks to eclipse the 1 win seasons and the
2 win seasons that we have had over the last 2 years.
Given
our recent success, it is rather disturbing that some members of
our team desire lineup changes. SpermBoy and The Chad tried to push
yours truly, me, Mischief, to offense and to move The Chad back
to defense. Ha. As Captain of this ship of fools, I vetoed that
idea. And then on the ride home, KrazyKarl thought it would be a
good idea if we teamed SpermBoy with Dave. Both Pisser and I rejected
that idea. Then KrazyKarl thought we should put all of our names
in a hat and pick them out randomly to determine our hockey lines.
Pisser and I totally laughed at that idea, we told KK that he should
make his own team and then he could do that.
Other post game musings:
Before the game KK informed us his knee was still not 100%, so he
hoped he could still play as well as Frank. After the game KK declared
that he did indeed play better than Frank. We consulted Pisser for
the bottom line, and he said that yes, KK was an asset to the team.
But then he went on to say that everyone is an asset to the team.
And now
to the highlight of the game. I picked up the puck in the offensive
zone on the left side. I deked around one guy, and then skated straight
to the net. The goalie had the short side covered as well as everything
low. I looked to the middle and I saw The Chad parked in front of
the net. Unfortunately, a guy was all over him. So I quickly calculated
the angle I needed to shoot at, and the velocity needed. Then, snap,
a quick shot that I bounced off the goalie, right to The Chad, and
boom, he put it in the net for the first goal of the game, which
turned out to be the game winning goal of the game (as we won 2-0).
It all went according to plan.
Just another day in the life...
