Do all groups that spend over eight hours a night together, every Saturday night, get on each other's nerves as much as we do? Or is it just us? We are all so familiar with the regulars that we know which buttons to push, we know the tendencies, we know the individual strengths, the individual weaknesses, and the usual complaints.
Game Night began with Clinton Enchiladas. We were all thankful that the Super Novice made dinner (with the help of Sometimes Bunny). Yes, we were a little skeptical at first, but SN did announce, "I am a way better cook than I am a gamer."
Then on to the real entertainment, and no I'm not talking about the Anti-Peace Bus. We began with the usual Counter Strike. Krazy Karl was the server and he loaded up the map cycle with many of Starfury's "worst maps ever". Personally, I don't care which maps we play. Winning or losing depends on your team. In baseball they say that good pitching always beats good hitting. Well in CS, good teamwork beats individually good players every night. A team that works well together is a joy to behold. A team that is confused is a disaster. On any map, a team with good teamwork can win with either side.
Then on to more entertainment. We ended the night with a few hours of Battlefield 2. After playing a couple of maps, Paintime's BF2 crashed after a map change. He took this as a sign that it was time to call it a night (it also helped that it was already 2 in the morning). So, he started packing up. He did continue to watch a little as the rest of us continued to play. Although with the bots now set on expert we were no longer winning. He saw that we were still having some fun so he joined just in time to win the map with us. At which he voiced the best line of the night, "Wow, I make all the difference."
