Lethal Rating!

Hearing all the hype behind this game I was a little weary of it. After the disappointment of FF8 and FF9 I was hoping that X would be different. Was I surprised by what I saw. The game opens on our hero Tidus a young Blitz Ball player surrounded by adoring fans. Moving your way through the opening sequence you get to the rich graphics and easy game play. Along the way to the Blitz Ball arena you meet another hero Auron and learn that he watched over you from birth. We come to a spectacular movie sequence in the Blitz Ball stadium. This is where you meet the villain of the game SIN here as he takes Tidus to a strange world.

Moving through the game the story unfolds and you are introduced to the other main hero Yuna a young summoner. You also meet Kimahri, Waka anf Lulu who are Yuna's protectors. I found the story to move well with many surprises and plot twists as you moved our band of hero's through the game. Along the way you pick up both Auron and Rikku to fill out your band of adventurers. Square changed both the battle system which is easy to understand and quite better than FF8 or FF9. They also changed how you acquire skills here is where I think Square out did themselves. Instead of the normal you level up you acquire skills instead you move through a skill map by gaining skill points instead of experience points. So you can choose what skills you wish to acquire and the path you choose to get them. This is very easy to do and with items you gain called Key spheres you can move through other characters skill boards. This is where you can customize your characters like never before.

The music scores by Nobuo Uematsu is the most incredible music score I have ever heard in a console game. I found that finally Square was able to finally tell a love story successfully. I was also leery about the voice acting in the game. I found the voices fit the characters and minus the mouth movement not matching the words. Any fan of Anima and dubbed movies will not have a problem. The eye candy in this game was incredible the cut scene movies and the Aeon summoning sequences was absolutely breathe taking. What made this game great was the story it flowed well and had a passion that I have never seen in any game. Square once again showed us that they are the kings of console role playing games with out a doubt. A must buy for any fan of a great game.
