Lethal Rating!

As I heard the buzz on the first person shooter built with the quake 3 engine I was salivating with anticipation. Little did I know how impressed I would be. Single player was very straightforward and the story moved along nicely. You start out as the hero from the first Jedi Knight game Kyle Katarn. Moving through the single player I was not real impressed. With the massive amounts of puzzle solving for a first person shooter I found it to be well a waste of time. The story at first moved along at a snails pace and got somewhat better as time went on. The voice acting was well done with Billy Dee Willams do the voice for Lando Calrissian was a nice touch.

The single player has very little replay value but Jedi Outcast was meant for the online play. Now anyone out there who dreamed of being a Jedi Knight and tossing your friends around with your force powers while you hacked them up with your light saber will absolutely love this game from the word go. Now to all those fans of Quake 3 and Half-life this game is not just about force power and saber skills, offering a wide selection of weaponry to deal out destruction from Missile launchers to Blasters it has them all. Now when it comes to force powers though you can go light or dark side with your powers both being well balanced. The game play is easy and the controls can be configured before game play. I found the play to be smooth and addicting for the word go. The games is not biased towards those that wish to use weapon to those that wish to use force powers or those who choose to use guns. The fact that like the Quake 3 and Counter strike communities servers are not centralized like Battle Net or pay to play servers. I found the game to be so much fun with the different options of game play. Free for all not much explanation needed here spawn and start fraging.

A nice feature though is even in FFA is that you can challenge a player to a light saber dual no force powers just 1 on 1 hacking and slashing away. Dual this one I found intriguing it is a 1 on 1 fight with force powers winner takes next inline. Now the waiting to fight killed me as I watched others play while I watched found this mode rather boring myself. Capture the flag once again rather self explanatory both teams try to capture the other teams flag and return it to their base. This mode was very fun and indeed. I truly believe Raven Studios out did themselves here with a great looking game along with what every Star Wars fan ever wanted to wield the force and shout "I AM YOUR FATHER LUKE" while laying waste to all before them. This game is a must buy not for the single player but for the multi player. Ladies and Gentlemen this is a must buy game.
